Phoenix House has served communities in California since 1979, helping thousands to overcome the problems associated with drug and alcohol abuse and lead healthy, productive and rewarding lives. Some 2,200 adults and teenagers receive treatment each day through more than 20 Phoenix House programs in Southern and Central California.

Fifth Annual Triumph for Teens Awards Gala to Benefit California Academies
On Tuesday April 8, Phoenix Houses of California will host The Fifth Annual Phoenix House Triumph for Teens Awards Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. Los Angeles Police Chief William J. Bratton and his wife, trial lawyer, television commentator, author and actress Rikki Kleiman will be honorees of the 2008 Public Service Award, which recognizes their contribution to civic life, exemplary leadership and their efforts to bring change to at-risk and disadvantaged youth.

40 th Anniversary Celebration Brings Together Community Partners
Phoenix House held a 40th anniversary event outside its Venice Beach facility on June 29 where public officials, board members, and more than 200 guests celebrated the thousands of men, women and teenagers who have changed their lives through Phoenix House programs. Read more

“Triumph for Teens” Gala
The Fourth Annual "Triumph for Teens" Awards Gala on April 25 was a tremendous success, thank you to those who came out to celebrate the victories of young people over substance abuse. Teen Singer and Actor Mario Visits Phoenix Academy of Los Angeles
Students at the Phoenix Academy of Los Angeles met popular teen performer Mario – a Grammy Award-nominated R&B singer also known for his roles in the movies Freedom Writers and Step Up – when he visited the facility on February 10. In addition to meeting the kids, Mario took a tour and saw the new digital music production facility. |

Phoenix House honored distinguished physician and addiction specialist Joe Takamine, M.D., during a luncheon in Santa Monica on January 25, 2007. Dr. Takamine was recognized for his lifelong dedication to the field of substance abuse treatment, as well as his professional achievement and years of ongoing commitment to Phoenix House. Read more

“Triumph for Teens” Gala - See the Video!

The 2006 Phoenix Rising Award was presented to the cast and producers of the FOX TV drama “House” in recognition of their outstanding work. The 2006 Public Service Award was presented to Timothy J. Noonan, President and CEO of Lockton Insurance Brokers, Inc. Mr. Noonan is pictured here (center) with “House” stars Robert Sean Leonard and Lisa Edelstein.
