  Phoenix House of Florida’s first annual Humanitarian of the Year
Phoenix House of Florida’s first annual Humanitarian of the Year Award dinner was held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Higgins Hall, St. Lawrence Catholic Church, in Tampa, Florida. The event honored board member Monsignor Laurence Higgins, in appreciation of his many meaningful contributions to Phoenix House and the Tampa area. Read more and see photos.

 
Derek Jeter Center at Phoenix House Celebrates Partnership to Help Recovering Teens
Phoenix House joined New York Yankee Shortstop and Turn 2 Foundation President Derek Jeter in a dedication and renaming ceremony for “The Derek Jeter Center at Phoenix House.” Jeter also presented a generous $500,000 donation from the Turn 2 Foundation that will enhance existing programs, provide clients with expanded services, and strengthen the effort to help young people working to overcome addiction. New Tampa Recovery Center Planned
Phoenix House has recently invested in a new facility that will allow us to expand the regimen of post-treatment recovery services we offer in Tampa as well as support additional growth in the region. The 30,000 square foot facility, known as the Tampa Recovery Center, will ultimately serve approximately 75 adults who are returning to the community following long-term treatment.

 

 
 
 
 
 
Turn 2 Foundation Golf Tournament Support for Phoenix House
Derek Jeter hosted his fourth annual celebrity golf tournament in Tampa, Florida in January. Attended by more than 125 golfers, the event benefited Turn 2 Foundation programs in the Tampa-St. Petersburg area, including Phoenix House’s adolescent programs.
 
 
 
 
Building News Lives in Florida
In Citra, Florida, Phoenix House residents are benefiting from a new vocational training partnership with the HomeBuilders Institute of America (HBI), the educational arm of the National Association of Home Builders.  Read More.
 
 
 
 
 
  New Library for Citra
Staff and residents of Phoenix House in Citra recently unveiled the latest addition to the facility: a full-service library. The whole Phoenix House family worked on the project for some two months, converting an empty meeting room into an impressive library complete with several thousand books, a small computer lab, and study hall space for residents. All of the work, including carpeting, tiling, carpentry, lighting and painting was completed by residents in treatment.
 
 
 
 
Turning 2 Phoenix House
The Jeter Family Turn 2 Foundation has supported Phoenix House for nearly a decade. In this first person account, Dr. S. Charles Jeter, vice president of the foundation and father of baseball star Derek Jeter, talks about promoting healthy lifestyles among young people.

Phoenix House Arrives in Tampa
Phoenix House is pleased to announce the opening the Phoenix House Youth and Family Counseling Center in Tampa. Treatment at our Center begins with a comprehensive assessment of the problems a troubled teen is facing.
