New Academy for Springfield

Chafee Champions Treatment
U.S. Senator Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island presented Phoenix House with a $100,000 special federal grant for workforce development that will underwrite additional training for substance abuse workers and encourage them to remain in the treatment field. The grant was obtained from the U.S. Department of Labor through the efforts of Senator Chafee. Justice for Juveniles
Chief Judge Jeremiah S. Time for Technology
Phoenix House facilities in New Hampshire and Rhode Island received a communications boost from local supporters. Thanks to the efforts of U.S. Senator Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, Phoenix House Dublin Center has been slated to benefit from a federal grant, which will allow the center to develop a computer training center. In Rhode Island, the computer training of students at the Phoenix Academy at Wallum Lake has been enhanced by a generous donation of computer equipment from GTECH, a multi-national company with headquarters in Rhode Island.

Phoenix House Expands Services in Washington County
Phoenix House has been selected by the Rhode Island Division of Substance Abuse to provide outpatient services in Washington County, Rhode Island. Phoenix House will be solely responsible for the delivery of outpatient services in the state's fastest-growing county, and will work with other human services agencies to provide a full range of services including substance abuse treatment, family education and women's services. |

Hampden County Corrections Program
Phoenix House was awarded a contract with the Hampden County Community Corrections Center in Massachusetts to provide substance abuse treatment, educational services and vocational training to non-violent offenders. |
