In Memoriam - A.M. Rosenthal


Phoenix House mourns the loss of A.M. Rosenthal, a giant of American journalism and one of our most ardent supporters.  America remembers Mr. Rosenthal for his legendary newspaper career, including his stints as managing editor and executive editor of the New York Times. The New Yorker magazine

Between the Cracks
The New Yorker magazine profiled Phoenix House, focusing on counselors Jose Diaz and Gilbert Acevedo. Diaz and Acevedo spearheaded the Adolescent Court Outreach Program that gets teens who are headed to prison for nonviolent drug offenses into treatment. The program has been lauded for its success rate and has helped adolescents recover from addiction.
